Dear Friends in Christ,The World Evangelical Alliance is a global ministry working with local churches around the world to join in common concern to live and proclaim the Good News of Jesus in their communities. God is glorified and the nations of the earth are forever transformed.
The purpose of the WEA Religious Liberty Prayer Release is to keep you informed and mobilized in prayer and intercession for the needs of justice and religious liberty in the Church around the globe, so that we can stand together for the work of the Kingdom and the healing of the Nations. The Prayer Release is comprised on the basis of different credible resources.
Hindu extremists attack 2 Christian adults and 7 children in INDIAIt is reported that on 23 October, 2 Christian adults accompanying 7 Christian children for a youth bible study conference, were accosted by a group of Hindu extremists who accused them of kidnapping and converting children forcibly. Subsequently, they were handed over to the police who detained the adults and the children despite them presenting proof of consent from parents to attend the programme in Mumbai.
Moreover, it is also reported that the parents of the children were attacked by extremists when they arrived at the police station to resolve the issue. The 2 adults were jailed for 10 days and the children were detained by the authorities for a week and released only after a court order.

Prayer points:

  • Pray for God’s comforting presence upon the children and the adults who were harassed in the incident;
  • Pray that the authorities would not discriminate against Christians, but act justly;
  • Pray that the law would prevail against extremist groups persecuting Christians with impunity.

Extremist Muslim posing as a Christian attacks school director in UgandaMugooda Siraji, a Muslim extremist posing to be a Christian, attacked a school’s director in Uganda after being confronted for propagating Islamic religion in a Christian school.
According to reports, Children at Hope of Glory International are now fearful about returning back to classes after the attack on the director. “He (Siraji) has been introducing to us Islamic ablution and how to be a true Muslim by believing in Allah and Muhammad,” said one student.
Prayer points:

  • Pray for God’s protection over all Christians in Uganda;
  • Pray for the students at Glory International, that they would overcome their fear and continue to attend classes;
  • Pray for the quick recovery of the school’s director.

5 Christians killed, 5 missing in Nigeria

It is reported that 5 Christians were killed and 5 others were missing following attacks by Muslim Fulani herdsmen in Nigeria’s Plateau and Benue states.

The attacks, which occurred during the past couple of weeks, included the killing of 2 Christians in Plateau State, who were ambushed and shot to death on 12 November and 3 Christians in Benue State, who were killed in separate attacks on 2 and 13 November.

Prayer points:

  • Pray for God’s comforting presence upon the the families grieving the loss of loved ones;
  • Pray that God touches the hearts of the persecutors and show them a peaceful way of life;
  • Pray that the state government will provide protection to all Christians living in Nigeria.
