As we prayed for the Muslim world through Ramadan just recently, our attention was constantly drawn to the situation in the Middle East.  From Iraq to the war between Israel and Palestine, to Sudan where a Christian woman was sentenced to death for apostasy and even beyond the borders of the ME to Northern Nigeria and Central Africa, to name but a few.

The last Christians were reported to have left the city of Mosul in Iraq last week, following a declaration by the ISIS, which now calls itself the Islamic State (IS), that they must all choose submission to Islam, the sword, or payment of the jizya, a tax formerly paid by Jews and Christians living under Islamic rule.

The Arabic letter nun for “Nasrani” was painted on Christian houses, crosses were removed from the outside of churches and approximately 1,500 Christian families fled, robbed of their possessions. All of this is part of a terrible toll of murderous violence in Iraq and Syria.
The presence of IS has been marked by a grisly trail of gore. Reports of Christians being crucified, killing and plunder come from various sources.  In Aleppo, Syria, pictures just recently appeared of three new crucifixions.  Many are held hostage and used as human shields by IS.
Even the Prime Minister of Iraq is accusing Iraqi Kurds of helping Islamic State (IS) terrorists. That spells even more trouble for Christians from a different side.

This wave of violence is not only escalating to other Middle East nations like Lebanon, but more and more reports come in of attacks on Christians in many other parts of the world.

In the light of these terrible events a call to prayer for the persecuted Christians in the Middle East and other parts of the world, has come from very dear friends in Egypt.

To The Body of Christ Worldwide,

As you all are following what's happening in the Middle East lately, there is an unleash of a spirit of slaughtering of God's people in Iraq, and many other geographical areas as well.   A sword is passing in this area.

Together with many Christians around the world we felt the need to pray and fast to stop these bloodthirsty demons that march there, and ask for the Prince of Peace to reign over the Middle East.

The urgency of the hour, comes not only from the escalating numbers of martyrs, and innocent people’s lives being taken, but also from the warning of the Holy Spirit to the Church in the Middle East as well as in the rest of the world.
(Esther 4:13 & 14)

It is time for us to stand in the gap because if we do THE LORD WILL USHER A NEW ERA OF HARVEST.
There is a GOLDEN WINDOW OF OPPORTUNITY during the next 2 weeks to stop this, so lets use it…

Psalm 2:8

"Ask me, and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession".

Shall we cry out with Isaiah and put an end to this season in Jesus’ Name!

Isaiah 64:1-4
Oh, that you would rend the heavens and come down,
that the mountains would tremble before you!
As when fire sets twigs ablaze
    and causes water to boil,
come down to make your name known to your enemies
and cause the nations to quake before you!
For when you did awesome things that we did not expect,
you came down, and the mountains trembled before you.
Since ancient times no one has heard,
    no ear has perceived,
no eye has seen any God besides you,
who acts on behalf of those who wait for him.
